Salvation: Only One Way
At one time or another most people have wondered about the meaning of salvation. They have sought out the answer in many places and many ways. They have looked towards scholars, theologians, rabbis and priests. They have also looked to those who claimed to be enlightened and the Eastern philosophy of Hinduism, and even Buddhism. Many people have tried to define salvation and find their own paths to salvation only to be led astray. The true meaning of salvation originates with God and is revealed in Scripture.
The study of Scripture will lead one to know that salvation is the eternal life of the soul and there is only one path to salvation. That path is through the blood of Jesus Christ. Scripture also reveals salvation is necessary due to the sin nature of man. Jesus said, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16 KJV used her and throughout). Jesus had told his disciples, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father but by me” (John 14:6). Jesus clearly spelled out the path to salvation
Those who would try to find their own path or follow the path of false teaching would never be able to find true salvation or eternal life for the soul. Those who follow the teaching of Hinduism or Buddhism or even the New Age Movement must leave the blood of Christ out of their path to salvation, for these philosophies and doctrines do not recognize the true path that is spelled out in Scripture. God gave eternal life to all who would claim it, but they must follow a specific path to access salvation. Paul writes, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9). Scripture bears out what salvation is and the path to salvation. Scripture also warns against false teaching. Salvation is clearly the eternal life of the soul. The path to salvation is through the blood of Jesus Christ. Any other path would lead one down a road to destruction. The soul without eternal life will experience eternal death, and eternal death comes from the wages of sin. Paul writes, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). The gift of eternal life comes from God and is accessible only through the blood of Christ.
